For decades, Bedford’s Springs Brook Park has been a summer hotspot for swimming, picnics, barbecues, and more. The pool has a splash area for small children, lessons for new swimmers, kayaks and paddleboards for kids over the age of 11, and three 50-yard lanes for folks looking to get their laps in. Beyond the pool, you’ll find a sandy beach ringing the park’s on-site pond, which make this place popular among locals who want to enjoy a day at the beach, but don’t want to battle the traffic on 95.
Outside the water, attractions include ball courts, miniature golf, picnic pavilions, and a concession stand. Special events and programming are planned all summer long (just check the calendar posted to the Bedford web site for details). Daily pass prices are reasonable, but if you visit regularly, you can save a bundle with a full-season pass. Students and senior citizens also get discounted memberships.
